Farmhouse House Plans - Style Information
About Farmhouse Style Homes:
The Farmhouse plans are very similar to the Country house plans. The main difference between a country house and a farmhouse home is that a farmhouse house usually has a wraparound porch. The porch wraps around the home. The roof ridge runs parallel to the street with or without dormers. The roof pitch goes to a shallow pitch at the porch. One main roof covers the main body of the home. The exterior material is clapboard siding.
Unique Features of Farmhouse Home Plans:
Wrap around porches with room for rocking chairs and porch swings.
Generally has a wood or clapboard exterior finish.
Roofs generally run parrallel with the main road.
Most offer multiple fireplaces, large kitchens and living areas.
