Hillside House Plans - Style Information

About Hillside Style Homes:
Hillside home plans are homes built into a hillside or sloping property. They are often two to two and a half story homes. Many have what is called a Walkout basement or Daylight basement where the lower level is underground on three sides and open to the back or side with bedrooms or extra living space. Some are built with the back of the house into the hillside and garages on the lower level. The main living area is often on the second level and because of this we usually see decks and balconies as a common feature. There is no main style for these hillside homes. It depends on the climate and state in which they are built.

Unique Features of Hillside Home Plans:
• Usually built into hillside or on sloping lots.

• Many style types are available for this unique footprint.

• Foundation types can generally be modified to fit your property.

• Basements, walkout basements and lower level garages are popular.
